Governor – Mr Jeff Teasdale

I am married with three grown up children and have lived in Bearpark all my life. I have served as a governor at Bearpark Primary school for at least twenty five years and have been elected chair of governors for the last ten.  I have been involved in education all of my life; I began working life in 1970 as a school science technician before moving on to the University of Sunderland where I worked until I retired in 2014. My work at the University involved managing a team of science technicians and teaching chemistry on a range of undergraduate courses. However, since retiring I have returned to work part time at Consett Academy as a science technician. As a governor my role is varied, as I am a member of  a number of committees; I am special interest governor for Maths and Science and have had a significant role in staff recruitment. I also have a special interest in the school’s governor led pre-school. My daughter (Miss Teasdale) works as a teaching assistant within the school.
