The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated in December 2023 and is due to be reviewed by December 2024. It will be monitored on a termly basis through the established school systems, by the school SENCO and Senior Leadership Team and ratified by the Governing Body, after consultation with representative members of our whole school community.
Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in our school.
Our Ethos
At Bearpark Primary School we recognise that all pupils are entitled to a quality of provision that will enable them to achieve their potential. We believe in positive intervention, removing barriers to learning, raising expectations and levels of achievement and working in partnership with parents, extended families and other agencies in order to provide a positive educational experience for all our pupils including those with a special educational need or disability. We strive to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their additional needs make the best possible progress.
” All teachers are teachers of pupils with SEND”, as stated in the SEND Code of Practice.
This policy was produced after consultation with parents/ carers, children and the governing body of the school.
